A Day in Norfolk/Virginia Beach
Well today was our last day to have fun in the good ol' U.S. of A before we head out, and we had fun. After I slept in till 10 AM I got up and took what may have been my last real shower, I headed over to get an early lunch with Freddy (See Picture 1). After lunch we (I and five of the folks I'm deploying with) took the bus down to the port. The five of us got to wander around and take some pictures and tour an active Coast Guard Vessel. We had a great time at lunch joking around and getting to know eachother a bit. Next stop, Virginia Beach. We took the bus down to the beach which is about 30 minutes by car or a very painful 1.5 hour bus ride. Our evening ended with some pizza we had delivered to our quarters. It was a good day (even the bus ride had its moments).
I don't know how long it will be until I will have a chance to post or email. Until then, cheers!

Hey Sean--Tim & I, Melo & Mike, Mom & Dad, Jeremy, Stef, Silas, Grant, and Kady all went to the park in Golden today and got to hang out and inner-tube down the streat/river. You and Danielle were very much on our minds, and in our conversations. Mom & Dad told us you had already posted. We are at their house now, reading your post. Dad's already gone to bed. We all are praying for you, and are very proud of your service to our country. Our thoughts are with you both. God speed--
Melinda
Sean flew out at 5:15 this morning. He sent me a quick text from his cell phone. They are supposed to be making a few quick stops (most likely England & Germany) before arriving at Al Udied in Qatar. They'll be there a few days and then will leave for their final destination in Balad, Iraq. We're not sure how long the trip will take.
Sean's cell phone is now off and will remain that way for the rest of his deployment. Hopefully he will have access to email somewhere along the route of his trip to Balad. Once he is settled in Balad, he will have regular access to email and the internet, and will also be able to use the phone at the base hospital where he will be working. I'm sure he'll keep us updated when he can.
Whoa! I didn't know the cell phone would be off for the deployment!
Once more, thanks for the post! The pictures are awesome! Freddie looked pretty scarey in that first one! I recognized the "terrified of the bus driver" Sean-face!
You are in our prayers!
That is always my least favorite part, Danielle--when you can't contact them as they're en route. It took Tim about 30 hours to get back from India last time, and he was out of communication the entire time. I always hate that! Hang in there!
