New Digs
Here are the highly anticipated pictures of our new residence in Maryland! Just click on the picture below to open the gallery. Scroll over the right and left side of each picture and click on the arrows to move forward or backward through the gallery. There are little blips to the right that explain the layout of the apartment. We hope to post pictures of our community in the near future.

I forgot to mention that we also have a utility room and guest bathroom. They are on the same end of the apartment as the guest bedroom.
Our favorite room so far is the loft. It's cozy and has we like the open view on the rest of the apartment. . .especially when we don't know where Cooper is. We've also been eating breakfast up here so we can check our email and then watch the news podcasts on the computer. We use the living room mostly for watching movies in the evenings.
It's definitely beginning to feel like home! I've even burned popcorn in the microwave. :)
Ah! The homey smell of burnt popcorn! Nothing like it to make a place feel like home. :)
I LOVE your place! It is beautiful and feels very spacious. You have decorated it beautifully! I really like the layout you chose for your apartment there, and I like the way you arranged your furniture and pictures. You could work professionally as a decorator, you know, if you wanted to.
Where do you keep all your books? I know you and Sean read a lot. Do you store books in shelves in a closet or in a chest? Daughters of librarians have to have books stashed somewhere.
Love, Melinda
It certainly looks completely done! I, too, like your loft area the best! No doubt you will spend lots of time there, and how nice to have a guest bedroom at last. You did a great job with it. I like the little bedside table and lamp you found. I was surprised to find you have a "library!" Those little wire cubbies are new too, aren't they? Hey! You COULD be a decorator!! I need to go back to the floorplan an take another look now!
I know you are relieved to have your little nest all made! :)
Love and hugs,
xo

All the books we own are either in the little library area or being used to decorate here and there. We do keep the few books we're currently reading in a basket by the couch, but that's it. Being the daughter of a librarian taught me to love books, but it also showed me the convenience of actually using the library. I can read as much as I want without filling the house with books that take up a lot of space and are heavy to move. . .something I have to consider with all the moving we do. :)
The wire racks for the library are new. I want nice wooden bookshelves eventually, but these were cheap and disassemble easily for future moves. Again, a lot of what I do revolves around making future moves easier!
