Fall Schedules
Several people have asked what sort of class line-up Sean has this Fall. So, in response to everyone who might be wondering what his new schedule is like, here are the classes he's taking:
Biochemistry
Anesthesia Lecture
Anesthesia Lab
Pathophysiology
Leadership Lecture
Research Lecture
Research Theory
Note: Research Lecture is with the University's Research Director and is intended to prepare the students for their medical research projects which will continue through their masters educations, and which will hopefully be published in a medical journal or used to benefit other CRNA's. It's kind of a big deal, and a lot of extra work.
Sean has classes every day of the week. They typically start at 8am (6am on most Fridays) and run until either 11am or 4pm. A lot of his time in-between classes and all of his evenings (except Friday which is our date-night) will be spent studying and doing classwork. They weren't kidding when they said this program would be like having a full-time job and then some!. . .Sean also wants to fit in a work-out routine at the school gym a few times each week. It'll be a good way to relieve some of the stress I can only imagine he'll be feeling!
Speaking of the gym, I have joined Gold's Gym! I wanted to keep my activities a little simpler and closer to home because of Sean's crazy schedule, so I've given up volunteering at Sojourners, and now the gym (which is conveniently nearby) will keep me occupied. . .not to mention healthy and in shape.
I've gotten a personal trainer for my first six weeks there to help me figure out different routines with weights, to make nutrition recommendations, and to track my progress. I'll meet with him once a week or so, then I'll do weight training and exercise classes several times each week. I'll be taking weekends off. I just completed my first week at the gym. It's been fun, and has definitely kept me busy! It's kind of nice to have a schedule of my very own to start out the Fall season!

Sean, I must say your studies do sound challenging! What a blessing the military has given you, allowing you to devote yourself to these classes full-time, without having other obligations. I know you will do great!

Hmmm! My comment from yesterday is gone! Thanks for posting this for us. Sean had told me on the phone, but I couldn't remember everything! I do hope the pressure from needing to study doesn't keep Sean from doing his own gym workouts to relieve stress and keep him in shape. It is wonderful that you are getting to workout too!
