I Love Fall!

Last weekend, Summer gasped it's last breath. Since then we've been sleeping nights with the windows open, often waking up having pulled all the covers up to our ears in an attempt to keep warm in the night's increasing chill. Waking up from a chilly night's deep sleep is so refreshing!

Crisp, cool air! Aaahh! It's beginning to feel like Fall! I got out my fuzzy house slippers last night while we sat with the cool air streaming through our balcony screen door, watching a movie and drinking coffee. We've pulled out our long-sleeved shirts and sweatshirts to wear in the cooler mornings and evenings. I'm starting to look for recipes to make as my Fall baking mood sets in: Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies, Cornbread, Apple Oat Bars. . .Mmmmm. Halloween candy is out in the grocery stores. Coffee shops have come out with their Fall beverages and pastries - I had a pumpkin muffin this morning at the corner cafe. Sooner than we think, we'll be able to turn on our fireplace.

It's been a while since we actually experienced Fall, having been in San Antonio the past several years. It's so nice to be back in a location with more than two seasons! I love this time of year!!!

I love fall too, which I am always surprised by because I am NOT a fan of winter! My favorite fall drink is the Pumpkin Spiced Latte at Starbucks!

I was at Mayorga (the coffee shop just down the street from us) yesterday, and watched while they made a Pumpkin Spiced Chai Latte. It looked yummy! It had the chai powder that they normally use, but then they added actual spiced pumpkin pie filling. I'll have to try it one of these days.

Yes, fall is a great time for chai, which always seems to have a pumpkin taste to me, especially the ones at Starbucks. There are some great memories for me of chai lattes shared with Dani at Starbucks here in COS!

Love you and miss you, Dani!

Brrrrr! Today is our coolest day yet. It's late morning and still in the mid 50's. I wore several layers and put Cooper in his little doggie sweatshirt when we walked this morning. I love it!

The leaves haven't changed, but I hear it's just a matter of weeks. This weekend, our community is having a Fall Festival, and I hope to check it out!

I may finally go try that Pumpkin Spiced Chai today!
